Bangladesh: a real landslide, but what does it mean with the Awami League barred

Read the GONOM piece on the BNP win. 212 seats for the BNP alliance, 77 for the Jamaat-led one, turnout just under 60%. By any measure that's a clear result.

But the main former ruling party wasn't allowed to stand, and Hasina is calling it illegal from India. I don't think that cancels the result, people clearly turned out, but I'm not sure 'landslide' tells the whole story either. Curious how others read it.
