Tolls from 160 to 390+ on the glacier flood. How should we talk about this?

The glacier flood post shows how different the first counts were: AP at least 160, Al Jazeera 390+, the Financial Express 359. Hundreds still missing.

I noticed people in other places picking whichever number fits their argument. I think on a story like this we owe it to the people affected to share the range and the source, not just the biggest or smallest figure. Thoughts?
