Creative Arts Emmys: 'Widow's Bay' wins eight, Bad Bunny's halftime show seven, Reiner honoured

The Apple TV comedy Widow's Bay won eight awards at the Creative Arts Emmys, held over two nights, September 5 and 6, at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles. AP, in a report published by PBS NewsHour, said DTF St. Louis won six limited-series awards, Spider-Noir five, and The Pitt and Pluribus four each on Sunday.

Bad Bunny's Super Bowl halftime show won seven on Saturday. Guest acting prizes went to Ernest Harden Jr. (The Pitt), Betty Gilpin (Widow's Bay), Shailene Woodley (Paradise) and, posthumously, Rob Reiner for The Bear; AP noted Reiner was killed in December.

Khaleej Times listed more than 100 awards across both nights. It said The Traitors won six, including best host for Alan Cumming, and Julie Andrews won for her voice role in Bridgerton at 90. David Harbour, Linda Cardellini and Woodley won their first Emmys.

How each outlet framed it

  • AP — a warm-up for the main show, with backstage quotes.
  • Khaleej Times — a winners' guide built around firsts and milestones.

Where the numbers differ: AP credited the seven halftime awards to Bad Bunny; Khaleej Times credited them to the show itself, including Hamish Hamilton's directing win.
