How I scam-proofed my parents' phones (simple settings, no apps)

My mom almost fell for a fake “bank fraud department” call last month, so I spent Sunday setting up their phones. Sharing in case it helps.

Silence unknown callers (iPhone and Android both have this). Turn on the carrier's spam filter, most have one for free. Save the real bank number as a contact so they recognise it. And the big one: we agreed on a family rule, the bank never asks you to move money, so if anyone does, hang up and call back on the number on the card.
