Translators and bilingual folks: how much do you trust AI translation now?

Translator here (French/English, mostly government and legal texts). The quality jump in the last couple of years has been real. For general text the first draft is often good enough that my job is now mostly editing.

But I still see it miss tone, mix up formal and informal address, and very occasionally invert a meaning, which in a legal text is a disaster. Curious how people here use it in their own languages, especially less common ones.
