a reviewer asked if my paper was written by AI. i wish, it took me 8 months

got reviews back on a paper today. reviewer 2 (of course) asked if parts were “machine-generated” because the writing was “unusually smooth”.

i rewrote that intro 14 times. the smoothness is pain. it is suffering, polished.

is this happening to anyone else? apparently writing well is suspicious now
