how long do you keep a phone before upgrading? i'm on year five and it's fine

with all the launches this month everyone at work is talking about upgrading. my phone is five years old. new battery last year for about £60, and it does everything i need: messages, maps, spotify, photos of my cat.

not trying to be smug, genuinely curious what pushes people to upgrade. the camera? the shiny factor? the phone just dying?
