Retired photographer here. Is it worth switching to mirrorless at my age?

I have used the same DSLR for twelve years. It is heavy now, my shoulder complains on long walks. Friends say mirrorless cameras are lighter and the electronic viewfinder is good now.

But I have many lenses. Can I use them with an adapter? Will autofocus be slow? And is the electronic viewfinder really comfortable for older eyes? I wear glasses.
