PSA: my 'slow broadband' was actually the router hiding behind the telly

spent two months moaning at my provider. turns out the router was on the floor behind the TV, next to a fish tank. water and metal, great for wifi apparently.

moved it onto a shelf in the hallway, middle of the flat. speeds in the bedroom went from barely loading to actually watchable. no new kit, no calls to customer service.

so: get it off the floor, away from the telly, away from water. that's the whole PSA.
