Student tip: I cut my phone bill in half with a budget carrier

In Korea the big three carriers are expensive, and I was paying a lot for data I never used because there is wifi everywhere in Seoul anyway.

I moved to a budget carrier (here we call them "알뜰폰", cheap phone) that uses the same network. Same signal, I just lost some membership coupons I never used. Bill is around half now.

Things to check before you switch: if your phone is locked, if you have contract penalty, and if the plan has speed limit after data runs out. Maybe this works in other countries too? I don't know how it is outside Korea.
