How each outlet framed it
- Boston.com — the winners list and the speeches, including Anderson's remark that among great films “there is no best among them”.
- Backstage — firsts: Cassandra Kulukundis won “the inaugural casting Oscar”, and Autumn Durald Arkapaw became the first woman to win for cinematography. Conan O'Brien hosted.
- Reuters, via Interaksyon — Sean Penn as a “no-show” winner, and a tie in live action short between The Singers and Two People Exchanging Saliva.
- Al Jazeera — the full list, calling Anderson's film “the big winner”.
Where the numbers differ: Al Jazeera's text says Frankenstein won two awards, but its own list, like Boston.com's and Reuters', shows three: production design, costume design, and makeup and hairstyling.
