Farmers or gardeners here: are weather/soil apps actually useful or just hype?

I run a small farm in Korea with my husband, mostly vegetables. Spring planting is close and every year some sales person shows us a new app or sensor: soil moisture, frost alerts, AI that tells you when to water.

Some neighbours love them, others say the old way of looking at the sky works better. If anyone here uses this kind of technology on a small scale, did it really save you time or money? I would rather hear from real users than from the companies.
