Long weekend in Taiwan = everyone travels = I stay home and make a museum list
Tomb Sweeping long weekend here, so trains are packed and I chose violence: staying in Taipei while everyone leaves. Turns out the city is quiet and museums are half empty.
My underrated picks if you ever visit: small history museums in old Japanese-era buildings, the tea culture spots up in the hills, and honestly any of the tiny private collections in Dadaocheng. Most people do the big palace museum and the night markets and leave.
What's the best 'stay home while everyone else leaves' trick in your city?
