Game Talk
Teacher here: games I've actually used in a classroom (and what worked)
After 15 years of 'Mr. North, can we play games?', I finally said yes. Results, roughly:
Minecraft Education for geometry and teamwork. Worked great until someone flooded the shared world with lava. Kerbal Space Program for physics. The kids learned more about orbits from failing to land on the Mun than from my slides, which I'm choosing not to take personally.
Civilization for a history unit, which mostly taught them that Gandhi is apparently a menace. Papers, Please for a lesson on ethics, with older students. Surprisingly intense discussion.
Other teachers, what's worked for you?
