How do you talk about climate with family who think it's all exaggerated?

Thanksgiving was earlier this month here in Canada and, as usual, my uncle and I ended up in it over dinner! He's not a denier exactly, he thinks it's real but 'overblown by the media' and that carbon pricing is a cash grab.

I'm passionate about this stuff and I always get too intense, which makes him dig in more! Then my mom gives me the look.

Has anyone found a way to actually have a good conversation about this with relatives? Not to win, just to not ruin dessert!
