Ubisoft reveals Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced for 9 July, rebuilt by Ubisoft Singapore

Ubisoft officially revealed Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced on 23 April, a remake of the 2013 pirate adventure Assassin's Creed IV Black Flag, after a leak earlier that week, NME reported. It comes out on 9 July for PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC. RPG Site said it is developed by Ubisoft Singapore on the Anvil Engine.

Windows Central listed US prices of $59.99 for the standard edition, $69.99 for the Deluxe Edition and $199.99 for the Collector's Edition; NME gave £49.99 for the standard edition in the UK. Matt Ryan returns as Edward Kenway. The remake adds new missions, officers for Kenway's ship the Jackdaw, crouching anywhere for stealth, parrying, a grappling hook, dynamic weather and 60 FPS options on consoles. The original's multiplayer and DLC, including Freedom Cry, are left out. NME said the 2013 game sold more than 11 million copies.

How each outlet framed it

  • NME — the reveal after the leak, UK pricing, the Collector's Edition contents and new music and sea shanties from Woodkid.
  • RPG Site — the developer's own pitch, naming the three new officers Lucy Baldwin, The Padre and Deadman Smith and a redesigned modern-day story.
  • Windows Central — a buyer's view: three editions, live preorders and upgrades such as ray-traced lighting and modernised water.

Where the details differ: NME said the Collector's Edition is “reportedly” £174.99, while Windows Central and RPG Site gave $199.99 in the US. NME and Windows Central did not name the studio; RPG Site named Ubisoft Singapore.
