Jihyo leaving JYP but staying in TWICE: is this the new normal for K-pop?

Reading the GONOM piece on Jihyo, the bit that stuck with me was the line about 'a series of changes involving TWICE members' individual management'. She's leaving JYP after 21 years and setting up Emithaus, but staying in the group.

I can see the upside: she gets control of her solo work, and the fans keep the group. But I can also see how messy it could get when one member's schedule is run by a different company. Neither outlet said how that will work.

Is this becoming the standard path for idols who've been around ten years? Genuinely asking, I only know the basics.
