Elections on Sunday or on a weekday: does it matter?

In Spain we always vote on Sunday. Schools open as polling stations, people go after breakfast or before lunch with family. It feels normal to me.

Then I see other countries vote on a Tuesday or Thursday and people must go before or after work. I would like to see real data on this. Does anyone know good sources comparing turnout by voting day?
