The UK care home report should be read in every country, not just Britain

I read the GONOM summary of the UK Covid inquiry report on care homes, and honestly it hit me hard! 43,000 care home deaths involving Covid, workers using bin bags and ponchos when PPE ran out, and the sector called 'an afterthought'.

What struck me is how universal the failures sound. Patients moved out of hospitals without safe isolation, care staff who couldn't afford to stay home sick, families kept away from dying relatives. I don't think any country can read that list and say 'not us'.

In India, most elderly care still happens at home, with family, which has its own problems. But the lesson about forgetting the people who aren't in hospitals feels very relevant to us too.

Which of the recommendations do you think your country actually needs? I'd say paid sick leave for care workers is number one!
