Is it okay to still fly for holidays? Genuinely torn

I try to do the sensible things: train where I can, eat less meat, no car. But my family is spread across three countries and I want a proper holiday this summer.

I don't want to be smug or flagellate myself. Where do people land on this? Is there a reasonable middle ground, or is flying just the elephant in the room?
