'80% of subscribers watched Korean shows' is Netflix grading its own homework

Not trying to be the fun police here. The Netflix Korea numbers are impressive, and I believe the general trend. Korean shows are clearly a huge part of what people watch.

But the GONOM piece makes a point I wish more coverage made: both outlets rely on Netflix's own figures, and neither cites an independent check. 'Watched' could mean finished a whole series or sat through five minutes of a trailer that autoplayed.

I'd love to see how they define it. Does anyone know if Netflix explains its counting method anywhere?
