Do museum memberships actually pay off? I tried to do the maths
Retired, plenty of time, modest budget. My local art gallery offers an annual membership for roughly the price of four special exhibition tickets, plus free entry for a guest and a café discount.
By my count I went to three paid exhibitions last year, so on paper it's a wash. But members also get early access and talks, and I suspect I'd go more if it felt 'free' each time, which is presumably the point.
Has anyone kept track honestly? Did you go more often with a membership, or did it sit in your wallet like a gym card?
