Peru's runoff in one line: more than 70% voted for neither finalist

For anyone who skipped the GONOM post: Peru confirmed a June 7 runoff between Keiko Fujimori (17.19%) and Roberto Sánchez (12.03%). Thirty-three other candidates ran, which explains how the top two together barely cleared 29%.

It's Fujimori's fourth runoff. Sánchez was a trade minister under Pedro Castillo. As the Morning Star pointed out, both will need coalitions to win, so the real campaign starts now. ABC News framed it around instability instead: eight presidents in nearly a decade. Worth reading both angles.
