Forza Horizon 6 launches in Japan's streets: May's crowded release calendar, compared

Forza Horizon 6, Playground Games' open-world racer, comes out on 19 May for Xbox Series X|S and PC, and joins Xbox Game Pass the same day. Nigeria-based Techloy said it is set in Japan, the series' largest map yet, with more than 550 real-world cars. France's Sortir à Paris described the map as a condensed version of Japan and said a PS5 version follows later in 2026.

It is the centrepiece of a busy month. Australia's Stevivor highlighted Mixtape (7 May), LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight (22 May) and 007 First Light (27 May) alongside Forza. The UK retailer Box also listed Directive 8020 (12 May), Subnautica 2 in early access (14 May) and Mina the Hollower (29 May). Techloy counted ten Game Pass launches across the month, from Final Fantasy V on 5 May to Crashout Crew on 28 May.

How each outlet framed it

  • Techloy — an Xbox-only calendar, built around Game Pass day-one releases.
  • Stevivor — five headline games across all platforms, with more updates promised.
  • Box — the longest list, with dozens of smaller PC early-access titles.
  • Sortir à Paris — a short pick for French players, with age ratings next to each game.

Where the numbers differ: Stevivor dated the Switch 2 exclusive Yoshi and the Mysterious Book to 7 May; Box and Sortir à Paris gave 21 May. Stevivor and Sortir à Paris listed LEGO Batman for Switch 2, while Box listed only PC, PS5 and Xbox. Techloy put Subnautica 2 at an unconfirmed May date rather than 14 May.
