Life Talk
student halls cooking culture is grim and nobody talks about it
Second year pharmacy student, shared kitchen with seven others. Things I have seen this term:
A pan that has been 'soaking' since freshers' week. Someone microwaving fish at 8am. A fridge shelf labelled with a passive-aggressive note that now has its own reply notes, like a forum thread. A grown man who eats dry cereal from the box for dinner and calls it 'prep-free'.
I'm not perfect, but we're all supposed to be training for professional careers and none of us can share a sink. Is this universal or is my flat cursed? And any tips for getting a shared kitchen to function without becoming the flat's mum?
