How many solar panels for a small house? I am learning to be electrician

I am electrician student in Turkey. My uncle has small house in village near Konya, and he ask me if solar is good idea. A lot of sun there!

How do I calculate how many panels? I know I must look at how much electricity they use each month, but after that I am not sure. Also battery or no battery? Grid connection is not very stable in the village.

Thank you, I want to learn properly, not only guess.
