Life Talk
My wife and I started a three-line notebook. It helped more than I expected
After our son was born we became very good teammates and not so good at talking to each other as a couple. Everything was about schedules, diapers and who would take the morning.
My wife saw an idea somewhere: a shared notebook on the kitchen table. Each night, each of us writes three lines. One thing that happened today, one thing we appreciated about the other, and one thing we need tomorrow.
It sounds a bit cheesy. But in Japan many of us are not so direct with words, and writing it is easier than saying it. After two months, I read back and I'm surprised how many small kind things I would have forgotten.
Has anyone tried something similar? I'm interested how other couples keep connected when life is busy.
