IT·Science Talk

Helping my grandma with video calls is the best part of my week

I work in IT support, so all day I fix problems for people who are stressed and a bit angry. Then on Sunday I visit my grandma in Kraków and help her with her tablet, and it is the opposite. She is so happy when it works.

This week she managed to call my cousin in Ireland by herself, without help. She told me three times. It is a small thing, but she is 86 and a few years ago she did not want to touch 'the computer'.

I think we often talk about technology as something that makes people lonely. For her it has done the opposite. Does anyone else have a nice story like this? I could use more good news.
