Gentle, calm games for a complete beginner? (asking for me, age 68)

Hello everyone. My granddaughter set up a Nintendo Switch for me over the summer and I'd like to actually use it for more than watching her play. I taught third grade for thirty years so I'm patient, but my thumbs are not quick.

I'd love something peaceful, nothing with timers or people yelling at me online. I have heard Animal Crossing mentioned. Is that a good start? Any others you'd suggest for a slow learner?
