Vingegaard wins the Giro by 5:22 and joins the riders who have won all three Grand Tours
Jonas Vingegaard won the Giro d'Italia on Sunday, 31 May, finishing 5 minutes 22 seconds ahead of Felix Gall, with Jai Hindley third at 6:25. The AP report carried by the Eagle-Tribune said the Dane became the eighth male rider to win all three Grand Tours.
Flashscore said it was his fourth Grand Tour title, after two Tours de France and last year's Vuelta a Espana, and that he was riding the Giro for the first time. He all but sealed the pink jersey on Saturday with an attack on the climb to Piancavallo, pushing his lead past five minutes. Flashscore called it one of the most dominant Grand Tour wins of recent years.
The final stage in Rome went to Italy's Jonathan Milan of Lidl-Trek, ahead of Giovanni Lonardi and Paul Penhoet. Escape Collective said the win “turns his Giro around” after a long wait for a stage win, describing a chaotic bunch sprint on a slight uphill ramp.

How each outlet framed it
- Eagle-Tribune (AP) — the record: the final podium and Vingegaard's place among the eight.
- Flashscore — the race: the Piancavallo attack and how dominant the win was.
- Escape Collective — the last day: Milan's sprint, and a stage podium few had predicted.
Where the numbers differ: Flashscore's article called this Vingegaard's fourth Grand Tour, but its page summary called it his third.
