As a farmer: high price in the shop does not mean more money for me
I read the grocery news about NPR and BBC. The BBC say the cost of fuel is a big reason for prices this time.
I want to say from the farm side. When fuel go up, I pay more for transport to the market, more for the machine, sometimes more for fertilizer. The shop price go up also. But my price, the price the buyer pays me, sometimes it does not change.
So when people say farmers are rich because vegetables are expensive, it is not true for most of us. The money is going to many places between the farm and the shop.
I don't want to blame anyone. Transport people also have cost. I just want people to know.
