SK Hynix at $1 trillion and I still can't afford RAM for my PC
Bit of a personal one. I do QA on games for a living so I follow hardware closely, and seeing SK Hynix and Micron both cross a trillion dollars within 24 hours was surreal. SK Hynix has sold out its whole 2026 HBM capacity. The Kospi is at records and the two Korean memory makers are now half its value.
Meanwhile consumer memory is caught in the slipstream. When the factories are busy making AI server memory, regular stuff gets less attention. The IG quote in the article, that the market is "running on FOMO", is the part I keep thinking about. Demand for HBM is clearly real. Whether the valuations are real is a different question.
Anyone here actually holding these, or are we all just watching from the sidelines?
