do showcases actually build hype anymore, or just exhaust it?

With showcase season basically here again, I've been thinking about how I feel about it. A few years ago I'd stay up for every stream. Now there are so many shows in such a short window that I mostly catch clips the next day.

Part of me thinks the volume has diluted the moment. Another part thinks the format is fine and I've simply got older. A trailer for a game three years out also lands differently when you've seen several of those get cancelled.

Do you still watch live? And which format do you prefer, one big show, or lots of smaller ones?
