Parents: would this change how you feel about school transport?

I am asking as a mother and also because at work we discuss transport for employees' children. After the Buggenhout crash, two children and two adults dead, five children seriously hurt, I saw many parents in my town's group saying they will drive their children themselves now.

I understand the emotion. But is it rational? And for those with children with special needs, do you even have a choice? I am curious how parents in other countries think about this.
