Summer Game Fest week wraps: Halo returns, Rayman is rebuilt and Gears stays on Xbox
The summer showcase season ran from 1 to 8 June, with more than 15 shows, showcases and directs, India's Outlook Respawn counted. Geoff Keighley's Summer Game Fest Showcase aired on 5 June, moving this year to the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, as VGC had reported in 2025.

T3 listed the main reveals. Sony's State of Play on 2 June showed Rayman Legends Retold, out on 1 October with a remastered Rayman Origins, plus new God of War, Tomb Raider, Until Dawn 2 and Marvel's Wolverine material. The Xbox Games Showcase on 7 June dated Halo: Campaign Evolved for 28 July, also on PS5, and showed extended Gears of War: E-Day footage; T3 said Gears will be an Xbox exclusive on console, and that inXile's Clockwork Revolution will not come to PlayStation. Xbox also showed a translucent green Series X25 Limited Edition for its 25th anniversary. Summer Game Fest itself premiered Star Wars Zero Company, a turn-based Clone Wars strategy game.
How each outlet framed it
- T3 — a running list of the biggest reveals, with release dates and which games skip PlayStation.
- Outlook Respawn — a schedule in Pacific and Indian times, including the India Games Showcase on 8 June.
- GamingBolt — Keighley's “biggest” claim, noting he did not say whether that meant more games or a bigger show.
What we don't know yet: T3 said Valve's Steam Machine and Steam Frame are still due this summer with no price or date, and a Nintendo Direct was set for 9 June.
