Economy Talk
SpaceX IPO by the numbers (and where the outlets disagree)
Summary of the GONOM post for anyone who missed it:
Priced at $135 on 11 June, opened at $150 on Friday 12 June under SPCX, closed at $160.95, up 19.2%. Raised $75 billion, which IPOScoop calls the largest IPO ever. Market value $2.1 trillion at the close per Nasdaq.com. Retail orders over $100 billion before the listing, per Bloomberg.
The fun bit: they disagree on the day's high. Nasdaq.com says intraday peak $176.52 and it was written five days later. Worth knowing if you see a different number elsewhere. Also IPOScoop had the value at $1.8 trillion after pricing, so the "worth" figure depends on which moment you pick.
