Kingdom Come studio Warhorse hit by a cyberattack: what it confirmed and what it won't say

Warhorse Studios, the Prague-based developer of Kingdom Come: Deliverance, has confirmed it suffered a cyberattack. Eurogamer reported on 27 October that the studio called it “serious” and said it was working to determine the “full extent” of the impact.

“This is a serious incident for Warhorse Studios and for everyone affected.” — Warhorse Studios, via PC Gamer

PC Gamer said the studio announced the attack on X and was working with cybersecurity specialists, without disclosing its scope or purpose. It noted that Warhorse has two projects in the works, a Lord of the Rings RPG and a new Kingdom Come adventure, but that there was no confirmation either was accessed.

From Prague, Expats.cz reported that unauthorised parties accessed company systems and data, that the studio is coordinating with “relevant authorities”, and that it has not said whether employee, partner or player data was affected. The site described Warhorse, owned by Sweden's Embracer Group, as one of Czechia's largest game studios, and quoted CEO Martin Frývaldský.

How each outlet framed it

  • Eurogamer — the confirmation and the studio's own description of the attack.
  • PC Gamer — what could be at stake: the Lord of the Rings RPG and the next Kingdom Come.
  • Expats.cz — a major Czech employer hit, and the questions still open about data.

What we don't know yet: who carried out the attack, what was taken, and whether players are affected. Warhorse says it will not give interviews while the investigation continues.
