EUFOR is still in Bosnia? I didn't know until this crash

I read the GONOM post about the helicopter crash in Bosnia, four Italian crew killed and 11 injured. First, very sad, condolences to their families.

But I must be honest: I didn't know there is still an EU peacekeeping force in Bosnia. I'm 20s, the war was before I was born. Why is it still there? Is it big? Who decides how long it stays?
