japan: rice finally cheaper, bread dearer. the universe balancing out?
So the news post says rice in Japan fell 5.4% on the year, first drop since 2022. Great! Meanwhile 2,566 food items are going up in July and bread is a big chunk of it. Including the Royal Bread line. Brutal.
Question for anyone living in Japan: do you actually feel the rice drop at the shop, or did the bread hikes cancel it out before you noticed? Asking as a Canadian who mostly eats toast lol
