What happens to our physical game collections once discs stop in 2028?

I read that Sony will stop making discs for new PlayStation games from January 2028. Games already released, or scheduled for disc before then, are not affected.

I have kept every boxed game since the PS2. Partly nostalgia, partly because I like to lend them to my brother-in-law. My question for those who understand the business better: will the existing discs become collectors' items, or simply worthless once the market for second-hand games shrinks?

I am also a little sad about the shelf. It has been a nice record of my life in some way.
