Mechanic here: cheap tyres are not saving you money

I see this every week. Someone comes in with the cheapest tyres they could find, worn out at half the life, bad grip in rain, and now they need a new set plus alignment.

I am not saying buy the most expensive. Mid range from a known brand usually lasts longer and costs less per km. Also check pressure once a month, it is free and makes them last much longer. Ask me anything if you want.
