a startup has an AI office manager that stocks the kitchen. our depot kettle's been broken since june

Read the GONOM post. The Guardian visited a startup where one of the 'colleagues' is an AI office manager that keeps the kitchen stocked. Meanwhile at my bus depot, the kettle has been broken since June and the biscuit tin is a museum exhibit.

Jokes aside, the bit that stuck with me is that the Guardian says companies are boasting about doing more with less using AI, from executive assistants to chiefs of staff, and it's causing tension with human workers. Yeah. I bet it is.

The Japan Times bit about government staff saying it saved them at least an hour a week sounds nice though. If it gave everyone an hour back and kept the jobs, fine. I just don't trust that's the version we'll get.

Anyway. If anyone's AI office manager has a spare kettle, depot 4 would like a word.
