Samgyetang at home vs at a restaurant: the gap is bigger than I thought
From the boknal post: a homemade bowl costs about 8,815 won per serving if you buy at a traditional market, and ingredient costs are actually down 2.8% this year. The average restaurant bowl in Seoul is 18,154 won.
So eating out costs roughly twice as much. Meal kits sit in between at 5,000 to 9,000 won a serving according to The Korea Times. If you've never made it, it's mostly a matter of time, not skill. Long simmer, lots of garlic and ginseng.
