Nationalising British Steel: sensible security move or expensive nostalgia?
I try to see both sides here. One side: a country without its own steel making is vulnerable, especially with wars disrupting trade. The other side: the furnaces are ageing and the Guardian says they must be replaced, so taxpayers now own a very big bill.
In Sweden we have also discussed green steel a lot. I wonder if the UK will try that route. What do you think, is this a good use of public money?
