Do you feel safe walking alone at night in your city?

Honest question, because I think the answer depends a lot on who you are and where you live.

In my part of São Paulo, I would walk at night but I would not use my phone on the street, and I would choose the route carefully. My daughter, who is 22, has a very different list of rules than I do.

How is it where you live? I would like to hear from different countries, genders and ages. What makes you feel safe or unsafe: lighting, people around, police, something else?
