Politics Talk

Why does everyone assume a 'strong leader' is always good?

In India, and I think in many countries, I keep hearing that we need one strong man, decisive, no coalition drama. My neighbours say it, my uncle says it, the TV says it.

I am not against any party. But I remember coalition times also, and some good laws came then, because many parties had to agree. Strong leader is good when he is right. When he is wrong, who stops him?

I deliver parcels all day, I listen to many opinions in the van on radio. Nobody explains what happens when the strong man makes a mistake.
