PSA: what the UK heat-health alert colours actually mean

Seeing a lot of confusion so here's the short version. The UKHSA heat-health alerts come in yellow, amber and red.

Yellow: mostly a heads-up for health and care services; vulnerable people may be affected. Amber: impacts likely across the whole health service, and a wider range of people could be at risk. Red: significant risk to life, even for healthy people.

None of them mean "great beach day". Check on older neighbours, keep curtains shut in the day, and drink water before you're thirsty.
