313mm of rain in 24 hours. how does a city even drain that?
The Typhoon Dolphin post says a station in central Shanghai got nearly 313mm in 24 hours, the most in 150+ years of records. How much rain is a normal big city built to handle? Is there any drainage system on earth that copes with that? And what happens to the subway?
Genuinely curious, I don't know anything about this.
